Today on the blog, I have the LE Pregnancy/Infant Loss Awareness box from Lilly Anne’s Garden. This box is dedicated to, and to raise awareness for, anyone that has lost a child. Each month, Misty creates a scent of the month–50% of all sales of that scent go to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. This is an organization that supports families who have suffered the tragic loss of a child, and remembers and honors them through photographs and remembrances. They also offer assistance for medical services, family services and bereavement counseling. For this box, $3 from each purchase will be donated. 1 in 4 women have suffered the loss of a child, including myself. This box and what it represents is dear to my heart and you are not alone. If you have suffered the loss of a child, reach out. There is help and support there for you.
This box is $13 + shipping and will be available tomorrow, restocked. You can click the link here to purchase. Make sure to follow Lilly Anne’s Garden on Instagram for updates. You can follow by clicking here.
On to the review!–
This box contains a Sugar scrub in the scent Angel Kisses, a 10mL rollerball cuticle oil in the scent Butterfly Hugs, and a small sheet of awareness ribbon water slide decals from RibbitsStickIts (Kristy create some AMAZING vinyls and water slide decals! Be sure to check out her shop and her Instagram! You can get to her Instagram by clicking here and her shop is ribbitsstickits.bigcartel.com.)
First up, the cuticle oil.
This is a 10 mL rollerball Cuticle oil in the scent Butterfly Hugs. It is a creative fresh blend of apple blossom, lily of the valley and rose petals. The overall scent is soft, refreshing, clean and floral. It reminds me of a lush garden in the summer, and like all of Misty’s cuticle oil, it is absolutely amazing.
On to the sugar scrub!–
The sugar scrub is in the scent, Angel Kisses. This fragrance begins with top notes of green leafy ferns and sweet florals; followed by jasmine and white floral lily; sitting on a floral musk base note. It is also colored pink and blue. The overall scent is is feminine and inviting; Welcoming you into the open arms of a garden of springtime flowers. This sugar scrub, like all of Misty’s sugar scuba is super hydrating and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.
And finally, the water slide decals from RibbitsStickIts!–
These custom decals are exclusive to this box. Show your support and awareness by wearing a ribbon on October 15th!
RibbitsStickIts waterslide decals are so easy to use! Simply cut out your decal and place in water for 15-30 seconds. Remove the decal from the backing and place it on the desired place on your nail. You can remove any excess with acetone and then add your favorite top coat! If you are impatient like me :D, you can add a top coat or clear polish BEFORE attaching/laying your decal so that it adheres to the nail more securely. Because the decals are semi-transparent, they work best over lighter color polishes.
That is my review for the LE Pregnancy/Infant Loss Awareness box from Lilly Anne’s Garden. Don’t forget to follow on Instagram and my blog for more reviews! Thanks for looking! And until next time…Happy Polishing!
Today on the blog I have the Psychobilly Duo from Pure Poison Polish. Shown below is the inspiration behind these polishes. Both polish names and the polishes themselves were inspired by songs by the artists, Tiger Army and Nekromantix.
This is a duo of two holographic, full coverage glitter polishes that are perfect for any fall or Halloween mani! Drea, the owner/creator/mastermind behind Pure Poison Polish, does holographic glitters like none other, and they never fail to amaze! Each one of these glitters can be used as topper with one coat, applied in 2-3 painted coats for full opacity, or sponged on in 1-2 coats.
For these swatches, I used a base of ‘Cable Knit Sweater’, also by Pure Poison Polish. This is stunning creamy cream color with a strong gold shimmer.
This polish is an exclusive when you purchase her Back to School Collection. That collection is available now! It consists of 6 shimmery basic colors–red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. This base ties all of them together and, a little bird told me that it will tie very well together with the upcoming fall collection. 😉 So, if you want this stunning base and a perfect rainbow of colors, the Back to School collection retails for $35.00 + shipping and you can purchase it by clicking here!
Now on to the swatches!
First up is ‘Ghoulina’–
This fabulous polish has a mix of blue/purple hex glitters, lime green hex glitters, and holographic glitters in a clear base.
That green, though! It’s the perfect zombie/slime green for any Halloween mani! And adding the blurple glitter was a stroke of genius, because who doesn’t love purple and green on Halloween? This polish was effortless to sponge on and just as easy to paint on. No fishing or manipulation required. It will be difficult to remove, since it is a glitter, and a peel off base coat is recommended. Also, this polish will dry textured. Be sure to use a good topcoat to smooth everything out.
Next up is Werecat-
This stunning polish has a mix of orange and burnt orange, black and holographic glitters in a clear base.
This glitter mix SCREAMS fall and Halloween! Orange and Black makes it classic. Over a nude base, or the base shown, it becomes reminiscent of a Pumpkin Spice latte. YUM! The formula was superb and applied easily with a sponge, as well as painting. As with the other glitter, a peel off base coat is highly recommended. It will also dry textured, so add a nice glossy topcoat to smooth everything out and make the holographic really pop!
And just for fun…here’s a couple of nail art designs I did with the bases I showed you!
Hope you all enjoyed the swatches! The Psychobilly Duo is available now for $16+ shipping! You can purchase by clicking the link in Pure Poison Polish’s bio on Instagram (click here to go there now!) Or you can click the direct link here to purchase!
Thank you all for looking! And until next time…Happy polishing! 😉
Today I have more new products to share with you from my favorite nail care company, Lilly Anne’s Garden. Misty has been back in the lab again creating more amazing products to help keeps your skin, nails and hands healthy and hydrated.
First up is her new Goat’s Milk Soap–
This soap is seriously amazing. It cleanses without leaving the skin feeling dried out, but doesn’t leave a film on the skin, like most soaps can. When I tested this soap, I ran it under water and washed my hands as usual. It lathered up very quickly and rinsed away clean. The apricot seed helped with exfoliating my skin and cuticles, leaving my skin soft and supple. Pink sugar is a pleasant, soft, feminine scent that lingers on the skin, but does not overpower. So far, Misty’s shop offers the pink sugar scent infused with exfoliating apricot seed and shapes for halloween–which will be pictured and discussed in just a moment.
The halloween soaps are in fun shapes for the halloween holiday! The purple skull is in the scent Witches Brew (if you want to know more about the scent witches brew it can be seen in the halloween box review). And the pumpkin shape is in the scent pumpkin roll. Both smell absolutely amazing and leave you skin feeling clean, without drying it out! These are both available in the Halloween box from Lilly Anne’s Garden. If you’d like to purchase, click here. For $17 + shipping, you can’t miss out on such an amazing deal! Supplies on the Halloween box are extremely limited. Once it sells out, its gone for good.
Next up is Misty’s new cuticle balms!
This is another fantastic new addition to the Lilly Anne’s Garden line of cuticle products. I have to say, I have been dying for Misty to come out with these since she began her company, and they definitely did NOT disappoint. At first touch, the texture is smooth and buttery–not at all greasy. This balm seems to melt by applying the warmth of your skin. But never fear, those of you living in hotter climates-like myself-these did not lose shape or arrive melted on my doorstep in any way! There is no heavy rubbing or digging to soften it up. A little of this definitely goes a long way, but the formula is light enough to be used throughout your day. The balm does not leave a heavy residue on the skin and absorbs quickly leaving a matte finish–Perfect for swatchers and “nailfie”-takers alike. It is absolute perfection. The will be available starting September 23rd, so mark your calendars. As of now, there will be two sizes available. A sample size, which is pictured, and a 10 mL full sizes. They will also be available in a variety of Misty’s delectable scent options, including unscented, for those of you with sensitive noses.
And speaking of scents, Misty has introduced 3 new scents to the cornucopia of deliciousness. And has also come out with a new nail charm for fall!
YAS! These are the new scents she has added to her lineup.
First is Banana Nut Bread-
This smells exactly like fresh baked banana nut bread. It has notes of fresh ripe bananas, vanilla and butter with light nutty undertones. If you love bananas, banana muffins, banana bread or any other baked banana goods, this scent is definitely for you!
Next we have Lychee and Mango. My friend, Bryanna, brought to Misty’s attention the desire to have some kind of lychee scent in her store. Since both my friend and I spent a significant part of our lives in Hawaii, we both have a love for lychee. Hence, lychee and mango was born. Growing up in Hawaii, lychee is among some of my favorite fruits and this scent just brings me back home. I remember, as a kid, picking ripe mangos from our neighbors tree; sneaking by the fence in elementary school during recess to pick the lychee that was hanging over the barrier. This scent brings me back to a time of innocence long gone. Tart fresh mangoes with the subtle sweetness from the lychee–just heaven.
Next we have Fig Lychee. Another amazing combination that is sweet and delicious. Both fruits are slightly sweet which makes this scent light and fresh. This is definitely one of my new favorites and is perfect year round.
And finally, a new charm addition to Lilly Anne’s Garden-
Just look at how FUN this charm is!! It reminds me of the Goonies–One Eyed Willie and all his jewels!
Hope you enjoyed this post on all the new additions to the Lilly Anne’s Garden product line. Don’t forget, the Halloween box is still available in her shop, as well as the new scents and charms. The cuticle balms release this Friday, September 23! To purchase, you can go to lillyannesgarden.bigcartel.com or you can go to her page on Instagram and click the link there! Thank you all so much for reading, and until next time, happy polishing!
**Picture Heavy and bad humor heavy…don’t say I didn’t warn you. 😀 **
Today on the blog, I have the new Glen Coco collection from Philly Loves Lacquer! It is a 6 piece collection that consists of 4 Holographic/Flakie crellies and 2 flakie toppers.
This is their new collection for fall and is inspired by the film, Mean Girls.
Now, I love anything that has to do with Tina Fey. I have watched and re-watched 30 Rock more times than I can count and her humor really shined through in this movie. Up until this collection, I had only seen the film once. Yeah–don’t judge. Somedays I really feel behind the times, haha! So, to get a better feel of the names of the polishes in this collection, I re-watched the movie. I found that I enjoyed it so much more than I had the first time. I grew up watching Clueless. Every teen back then wanted to be Alicia Silverstone and “Rollin’ With The Homies” was THE song you played at your party. I loved that this film brought all that nostalgia back. And because I feel like a film critic, I’m gonna stop there and move on to the real reason we’re here–the polish.
The namesake of this collection is Glen Coco. If you don’t know Glen Coco, then you should. Because he gets more candy than you–
And on to the swatches!–
First up is ‘You Can’t Sit With Us’-
This is a bright Barbie pink crelly packed with scattered holographic and iridescent, color shifting flakies. This polish has an excellent formula and was opaque, for me, in 3 coats. You could easily get away with two coats, but the polish can still be a bit on the sheer side at 2. If you’re not a huge stickler for visible nail line, 2 coats is the way to go. This polish and all the others in this collection have a very fast dry time–which I love. I tend to be a bit impatient going from coat to coat, so this collection made the impatient part of my brain squeal for joy. All of my swatches were down with a normal base coat and each polish was very easy to remove. I also recommend a good topcoat for all of these polishes, not only to extend the life of your mani, but to really make the holographic and flakies pop!
We all remember the awkwardness of this scene. If someone looked at me like that, I wouldn’t want to sit with them. Just walk away, and say, “okay.” And then give a side-eye.
…ahhh…the teen years.
Next up is ‘Is Your Muffin Buttered?’–
This is a gorgeous dusty purple crelly packed with scattered holographic and iridescent, color shifting flakies. Perfect formula just like the last. This was opaque for me in 3 coats, but could be done in two. And also like the last formula–very fast dry time and easy removal!
…Creepyyyyyyy. That’s a fun conversation to have when your about to eat your lunch, haha! Ew.
Next up is ‘You Smell Like A Baby Prostitute’– (these names though….HAHA!)
This is one of my favorite in the collection. I really love this cornflower/periwinkle blue. This polish is another of the holographic crellies, and it’s packed with holographic sparkle and those iridescent, color shifting flakies. This one had the most sheer formula of the 4 creliies and is definitely a 3 coater. I was very easy to apply since, like the others, it had a fast dry time.
This is what happens when Regina George gives you perfume. You get doused with room deodorizer. And now you smell like a deodorized baby prostitute.
And the last of the holographic crellies, ‘I’m a Mouse, DUH!’–
This is a perfect color for the upcoming fall season. It’s a “mousey” (teehee ;-})medium grey holographic crelly with iridescent, color shifting flakies. This polish was opaque in two coats. It has a wonderfully smooth formula and the same quick dry time.
…Obvs you’re a mouse. Wonder what a cat would have looked like? Ohhhhh…thats a TOTALLY different headband. DUH.
Next up we have the two toppers in this collection. First is ‘It’s Full Of Secrets’–
This is a clear based iridescent, color shifting flakie topper. This definitely looks amazing over darker colors, but still looks amazing over lighter colors as well. One coat is pretty much all you need for this topper, as it is packed to the brim with those flakies. They distribute evenly and there is no fishing or manipulation required.
Big Hair = being full of secrets. So, the 80’s? That was a pretty secretive decade, huh?
I’ll bet she had a TON of secrets. Just sayin’.
And finally, ‘You’re A Regulation Hottie’-
This is a multicolored UCC (Ultra Chameleon Chrome) flakie topper in a clear base. It has pink, blue, good, green, purple, silver…shifting to every color– and there’s even some holographic in there! This topper looks amazing over light colors and darker colors alike. One coat of this is all you need as there is no fishing or manipulation required. Application is smooth as silk. And if you really want flakie overload, you can always sponge it on for a super sparkly accent! This polish was easy to remove, but I recommend a peel off base, as those flakies can stick to your skin and never want to let go.
So there you have it! My swatches, review (and bad humor :P) for the Glen Coco collection by Philly Loves Lacquer. The collection is available for Pre-Order from now until September 5th as a Full set ONLY. The full size set is $62 and the mini set is $31. On September 6th, individual bottles will be available in both the mini, and the full size. The full size bottles will be $11.50 and the mini size bottles will be $5.75. You can purchase the Glen Coco collection by going to phillyloveslacquer.com or clicking the link in Philly Loves Lacquer’s bio on Instagram.
Hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for looking and Happy Polishing!!
The obsession with Lilly Anne’s Garden products grows stronger daily. I seriously have purchased more than I may ever need, but on the upside, my cuticles will never have anything to fear, haha!! Any who…Sorry about that tangent there. On to the review!
So today I have my review and swatches of the upcoming Halloween Box by my absolute favorite, ride or die nail care, Lilly Anne’s Garden. This box has a little of everything from her shop in it!
The box is $17 + Shipping and includes 3 nail charms that are ONLY available with this box, a 5ml cuticle oil with a rollerball applicator in the scent ‘Tricks or Treats’, a 2oz jar of tri-colored sugar scrub in the scent ‘Candy Corn’ and a 30ml bottle of her AMAZING acetone additive in the scent ‘Witches Brew’. The scents will not be exclusive to the box, so if you have a have a favorite in any one of the scents, you can always get more!
On to the individual reviews!! —
First up, the Sugar scrub!
I absolutely adore Misty’s sugar scrub! If you love her cuticle oil, this is a must have addition to your nail care routine. It’s packed with her cuticle oil to keep your skin and nails hydrated while exfoliating all that dead skin. And the moisture doesn’t end after you rinse…it lasts! I even use this in replacement of my cuticle softener. The scrub is layered in orange, yellow and white to look like candy corn and the scent is that of the BEST candy corn you could ever eat. (Don’t eat it…Misty’s scents may smell delicious, but they’re not for human consumption. She always warns me not to eat it, haha! :-P) This scent can be described as warm vanilla candy with top notes of butter and a slight hint of almond. So delicious and sweet!!!
Now on to the Acetone additive! —
As I said in the beginning of this post, I don’t know know what I would do without Misty’s products. The acetone additive is no exception to that. I will never do another mani without it. It’s that good. When I swatch, I’m constantly using acetone, so to have something that does not affect the effectiveness of 100% pure acetone AND keeps my cuticles healthy is a huge bonus for me!
(Fair warning…this reads like an infomercial…but it’s ALL TRUE!)
For those of you that are more casual nail painters– Have you ever shyed away from that gorgeous glitter polish because you dread soaking your fingers in acetone to remove it? Do you dread the dry, ashy residue left by 100% acetone? And the damage that your nails and skin has just endured for more 10 minutes or MORE? Do they look awful and hideous afterwards, like the photo below?? (Take a good look at the photo…because this is like a unicorn…never to be seen again. Except this is the internet and it’s there forever…*le sigh*)
Well, fear that glitter no more!
With this additive, You can remove polish without dryness. It leaves your cuticles hydrated and supple.
So, theres my “infomercial” like testimonial. If you haven’t tried this stuff, you should. It’s amazing! If you have allergies or concerns about whats in her additive or any of her products, Misty has some of the best customer service around and would be happy to give you an ingredients list! I will have all her shop’s information at the end of this post.
Now to talk about the scent–and this one has color too!–
Just like Misty’s other additives, this one has an AMAZING scent. Witches Brew has notes of fall spice with a hint of licorice and rich patchouli that makes for a mysterious, yet compelling scent. It reminds me of mulled cider–rich, spicy and delicious. This one also has a magenta/purple tint to it to give it more of a “potions” feel. It will lightly tint your acetone,(pictured below) but in no way will it stain or tint the skin/nails.
And finally, the cuticle oil!–
This oil has seriously changed my life.Well, maybe not my WHOLE life, but definitely the life and health of my cuticles. My nails are stronger and more flexible. I haven’t had a break in 4 months, and I am constantly using my hands and fingers at work. My cuticles are so healthy and hangnails are few and far between–which is a VERY good thing since I’m a recovering cuticle biter.
So, before I get into another infomercial like testimonial…on to the scent!
Tricks or Treats…mmmmm. This…this is what it smells like.
Just like a bowl of candy. A definite must have for Halloween and beyond! If you’re a sweet lover, than this is scent is for you! Tricks or treats begins with top notes of pumpkin, persimmon and apple; followed by middle notes of blueberries, elderberries, currants, orange and cinnamon with well rounded base notes of sugar cane and vanilla. This scent is complex, sweet and scrumptious!
Here is the oil applied–
And here it is after being massaged in completely–
This oil absorbs completely without leaving your fingers greasy!
Now its time for charms!! There will be three charms that will come with this halloween box and will be exclusive to this box. So if you love Halloween as much as I do, these charms are a must have for the holiday!
So first is an adorable skeleton face nail charm! This reminds me of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas! Here is a mani using this charm!
Then we have the Jack-O-Lantern charm! This charm is a perfect addition to any Halloween mani! Here is my mani featuring this charm–
He’s just too cute with the orange and green!
And finally we have my favorite of the three charms…the spider. Here is a mani featuring this charm–
LOVE IT! Who knew a spider could be so pretty?!
Misty is going to be releasing several new charms, as well, for the fall season. I already showed you 2 in my sneak peek, but I will be revealing all the ones I have received thus far, and show you a couple manis with the others that I showed you all previously.
And here are the ones I featured previously, as well as the manis I used them in!
I will be doing more manis featuring the new charms on my Instagram (@nails.in.arizona), so be sure to check that out!
Once again, the Halloween box will be available September 2nd for $17.00 + shipping. The boxes will be limited, so once they’re gone, they’re gone! Be sure you don’t miss out! And for all you international ladies and gents, Misty does ship internationally. You can send her an email to discuss shipping options by going to her website lillyannesgarden.bigcartel.com or going to her Instagram page (@lillyannesgarden) and clicking the link in her bio! All of the new charms and fall scents will be available starting September 2nd as well!!
Sorry this post is coming so much later than I wanted it to. Life happens, ya know? SO without further ado, lets begin!
Born Pretty Store reached out to me recently to review a few items for you all, and I have to say, I’m impressed! I was sent a clear silicone stamper, black stamping polish, holographic nail stencils, and some water slide decals. Each product I tested was of good quality, and the only item I seemed to have any problems with was the stamper. This issue was easily fixed and I no longer had a problem with it.
Now on to the reviews!
First item I am going to show you is the stamper. This is item number 26498 and you can find it by clicking the link here.
I really love this stamper! It has clean pickup and there was no priming needed! I was able to use it right out of the packaging. The only issue that I had with this stamper was that the rim on the holder was not wide enough to hold in the head of the stamper while stamping. As I would stamp, the edges of the head of the stamper would slip into the holder, and I would have to pull the head up out of the holder in order to get a clean stamp on my nail. On the plus side, it was an easy fix. I was inspired to do this by a fellow Instagrammer and one of my favorite YouTubers, Fireangel.120. You can find her Instagram by clicking her name. I saw a video of hers (you can watch it by clicking here) about how to keep a stamper head from slipping. She had found a way to keep the head of the stamper from slipping into the holder by using hot glue to create a wider rim. Well, because I don’t have a hot glue gun, I had to get a bit more creative. My method was more time consuming, but it turned out nice enough. I took some thicker placement glitters that I had, and using a older bottle of quick dry topcoat that had gotten on the thicker side, began to build a rim. Think if it like laying bricks for a wall. As you can see in the picture, it all worked out and I no longer have an issue with the head of the stamper slipping into the holder! The stamper has become one of my favorites to use and has yet to let me down. It is also big enough to reverse stamp and make decals with! Here is a collage of my reverse stamping/decal making. And believe it or not, this was my first time creating one!
As you can see, the image turned out beautifully! I’ll have to remember in the future to use a clear polish, rather than a quick dry topcoat. The topcoat dried very rigid and was difficult to manipulate once I got it on the nail. Definitely a lesson learned. I would post the mani, but the damage I created when applying the decal was irreparable. Sorry guys. I’ll be sure to do more reverse stamping in the future. Everything is learning process.
Next item I have to show you, and it was used in conjunction with the stamper, is black stamping polish. This is item number 27268 and is a 6ml bottle. You can find it by clicking the link here.
Yes, the bottle seems small, but the pigmentation of this polish really packs a punch and just little goes a long way! Be aware that when using this polish, it can stain your skin. I recommend using a liquid latex product around the cuticles to protect the skin from staining. The odor of this polish is slightly strong, but is not offensive. It does dry quicker than regular polish, so you going to want to move quickly when stamping with it. Be sure to have all your tools ready so that the polish doesn’t dry before you have a chance to pick up the image.
Next item I have to review for you is the holographic nail stencils. This is item number 27530 #6 and you can find them by clicking the link here.
These are almost too pretty just to use and dispose of! I’m definitely going to have to find a way to incorporate the holographic into a mani. Until then, gaze into the rainbow! These stencils are really easy to use. Unlike vinyls, there is no weeding. The vinyls themselves are very thin, almost foil-like. They have a stronger adhesion than most vinyls do, so make sure your base is completely dry before using. I was impatient and almost pulled up my base on one of my manis. If you want to avoid this completely, you can always create a decal. Also, these are durable enough to use more than once while creating your decals, which is a huge money saver!
Here is a close up pf the stencils–
As you can see, the lines are perforated. I do not recommend attempting to tear along the perforations as you can’t tear them without the backing being removed and could damage the entire sheet. I suggest using scissors to cut each stencil out that you’d like to use to avoid damaging the item. The stencil peeled away from the backing easily and I began my mani. I applied the polish on the stencils in two ways to test application. I painted it on directly, and also sponged it on to see which way would give the clearest effect.
I placed the stencils like this to apply my polish for the design. as you can see, there is some significant space around the cuticle. I do have deep nail beds, but this could cause pooling. If you want a more snug fit on the cuticle, you can trim the stencil to fit better to avoid any issues with pooling.
The polish was painted on my ring finger and sponged on on the middle finger. As you can see, the images on the ring finger are not as crisp as the images on the middle finger. So I recommend sponging on your polish for the best effect and remember to remove the stencil before the polish is dry, otherwise the begin won’t be clean and crisp.
Here’s the finished mani!
I added some caviar beads to add some texture. 🙂
And finally, the last item I have to review are water slide decals. This is item number 27367. You can find these for purchase by clicking the link here.
These were the easiest water slide decals that I have tried thus far. They were not too thick or delicate and they separated from the paper easily and quickly. The images were bright and bold on the nail. For these lighter decals, I recommend using a lighter color of polish as a base so that the colors pop!
Here is an up close shot, so you can see just how gorgeous these are!
To apply, the steps are as follows–
Here is the final mani! Be sure to seal in your decals with a topcoat!

Suuuuper excited about today’s post! Lilly Anne’s Garden, my favorite go-to in nail and cuticle care, is going to be releasing 7 new scents for fall. She also included another scent that will be part of a collaboration box with a few other indie nail polish makers to be released in November! At the end of the blog, I’ll be showing you guys some new cuticle oil applicators and sizes that Misty has added to her shop!
When I opened my package after receiving it, it was like opening the door to fall. It smelled of pumpkin, cloves, citrus, and apples. It was marvelous. It made me want to jump in a pile of leaves. Or sit by my fire pit in an oversized sweater and slippers roasting marshmallows., enjoying the summer finally drifting away…giving into the chill of fall.
These scents are absolutely divine! They go on just as delicately as her others and lingers softly on the skin for hours. These will be available September 2nd in her cuticle oil, acetone additive and sugar scrub. *note not all scents may be available in the lotion*
Here is a list of each scent that will be available–
**I tried to find photos that best described how each one smelled to me. I’ll do a brief description, but visuals are usually a helpful describer. 🙂 **
This scent is just like warm pumpkin pie, fresh out of the oven. Spicy, sweet and sumptuous with notes of vanilla cream. Gotta have pumpkin pie with whipped cream though. Is there really any other way?…No?…Thats what I thought. 😉
Pumpkin Apple Butter-
This scent is like sweet apple cinnamon with a mellow pumpkin and vanilla undertone. This literally smells just like whats pictured. Absolutely delicious!
Sweet and tart apple, pulled together with a delectable scent of golden caramel. Makes me want to make these! Nothing beats the taste of the apple against the sweetness of the caramel. So much YUM!
This scent is luscious, spicy cinnamon with a subtle, sweet pumpkin note. Perfect for any cinnamon lover!
This scent is just delicious! It smells sweet and tart at the same time with a hint of vanilla and citrus. Just like a freshly baked cobbler or even cranberry muffins! Those are my favorite during the fall!
This is one of my favorites. It is a bright orange citrus scent with notes of clove and anise. As this scent mellows it becomes soft and sweet with just a hint of spice. Absolutely love it! It literally smells just like when you push cloves into an orange. And that, my friends, is a good thing…a very good thing.
The final scent that will be available September 2nd is Harvest Moon-
So, I saved my favorite for last. This scent IS fall. Its got citrus, its got cinnamon, its got clove, its got anise, its got apple…its got it all. As it mellows it becomes a perfect harmonious blend of all things fall. I could wear this one year round and never tire of it.
And finally, Misty will also have new nail charms in her shop for fall as well! Here are two of them-
So CUTE! Love how fun and festive these are! I will be doing manis with these closer to the release date, so be sure to check my Instagram page for those! You can view my Instagram page by clicking here.
And now the special scent that will only be available as part of a collaboration box in November. i give you…Pumpkin Roll-
I highly recommend buying the collaboration box in November for this scent. It smells like pumpkin spice and all the wonderful aromas that come with it. As it mellows, the vanilla cream rolls in, becoming one with the spice. So sumptuous and sweet.

Now for the “more” that was mentioned in the title. I’m going to be showing you some of the new applicators for cuticle oil that Misty has added to her shop. So excited about these!
The three newest are the brush pen applicator, the 5ml rollerball, and the 5ml doe foot. each one works wonderfully and gives an even distribution of oil. They are all good to carry on the go and I have never had an issue with leakage, as long as the caps are on tight. The pen is a fantastic option for quick application and really getting the underside of your nails. It’s also a great option if you have deeper nail beds, like me. If you have a favorite scent, there is a 15ml refill bottle available as well! Pictured below you can see how easy it is to refill the doe foot bottles and the rollerball bottles. The cap of the rollerball pops off fairly easily, and the doe foot has a wide enough opening to refill easily once the applicator wand is removed. The pen is also easy to refill, but I didn’t open mine since it’s still full and I wanted to avoid making a mess. ;-P The 5 ml rollerball is perfect if you want to try out a scent. However, if you do find a scent that you love, you can always refill it! Not to mention, its the perfect size to carry along with you!

Today I have swatches and a review of the Pure Poison Polish ‘Hazy Summer Daze’ collection. This is a collection of 6 bleached neon cremes all inspired by songs that are sentimental to the maker. I find that Drea always has this special connection to her polishes and the names she chooses, which makes each polish and each collection more special than the last. Each polish in this collection is versatile as well! They all stamp very well and also watermarble!
Here is a slide show of the bottle shots of each polish –
**Just wanted to add a note before I continue with the swatches. In my experience swatching these, they were all one coat applications. Please keep in mind that Pure Poison Polish makes her polishes in small batches, and that consistency and color may vary slightly from batch to batch. All the polishes in this collection were highly pigmented, as well. I highly recommend a base coat for each polish to prevent staining your nails.**
Now on to the swatches!
First up is ‘Mellow Mood’ –
This is a gorgeous bubblegum/Barbie pink that was opaque for me in one smooth coat. I have to say that I was shocked at the opacity of these the I first applied them! Application was smooth as silk. It was not difficult to work with and the consistency was on the thicker side. It wasn’t too thick, but just right; which made application so easy. Being that these are cremes, the removal was very easy.
Next up is ‘Your Love’ –
This is a pastel neon coral/salmon pink creme. This was the most opaque polish for me and one of the lightest in the collection. This is much more bright than I could capture on camera and is absolutely stunning. It almost reminds me of cotton candy! If my middle finger looks like a thicker application, it is. I smudged it while moving something on my desk and did a second coat to cover it up. But as you can see, the second coat did not change the color at all, and it was just as bright and bold as the first! Application was easy and smooth and of course, easy removal.
Next up is ‘Lazy Afternoon’ –
This is one of my favorites in the collection! I just love a good purple and this is gorgeous purple is no exception. It is almost pastel, almost blueberry entirely perfect. This was opaque for me in one coat as well, but you could possibly need two based on application. My application was easy and smooth, just like the rest, and easy peasy removal.
Next up is ‘I’m With You’ –
This one had the thickest of the formulas for me, but I added a couple drops of thinner and all was well with the world…erm…polish. This is a super bright bleached orange neon. The color reminds me of macaroni and cheese! Love me some mac and cheese! All of my quirkiness aside…this is truly a fun color. I am not the biggest fan of orange polishes, but I do love this. I can’t wait to use it for the upcoming fall/halloween season!
Next up we have ‘Green Hell’ –
I never thought I’d love a lime green polish as much as I love this one! It is a perfect balance between being pastel and being a neon, and my second favorite from the collection. This was a one coat polish for me, but I could see needing two based on your application.
And finally we have ‘Bowl For Two’ –
This is my absolute favorite from the entire collection. Anyone who knows me, knows I love mint, well this is a minty turquoise that just blew me away. The formula – perfection. The application – perfection. Opacity – perfection. You get the idea. I love everything about this polish. This was opaque for me in one coat, just like the rest, but you could need two based on application.
So now into some of the things that take these polishes to the next level. The all stamp. All of them. Some are more opaque than others as far as stamping goes, but they all do stamp, and they stamp well.
And just to add to the stamping awesomeness…
This just goes to show how beautiful these colors all are together. Its a perfect fit. The look stunning stamped over both black and white. And I had to add holo…because…holo.
And finally…the cherry on top…they watermarble. And they watermarble well.
And just so you all can see…I did a couple of watermarbles and took photos before dipping in for my mani –
**Yes, I use silicone cupcake molds for my watermarbling. They are so much easier to clean, and I never waste cups. Plus, they’re acetone resistant if you need to clean off excess polish**
So there you have it. The ‘Hazy Summer Daze’ collection by Pure Poison Polish. This collection is available now! The set is $35 or available individually for $7 each. She is also offering a master neon set for $65. This includes her ‘Spring Break’ Collection set of 6 neon cremes, 2 crellies and one glitter topper. Thats 15 polishes for $65! All of the polishes with the exception of the crellies, stamp and watermarble leading to endless mani possibilities! Today on the blog I have some products from Lilly Anne’s Garden to share with you today! Lilly Anne’s Garden is owned by the lovely Misty Costello. She first asked me to review her products in April of this year and I have been hooked ever since! Misty makes Acetone additives, sugar scrubs, and cuticle oil, but recently has added lotions to her product line that she has so graciously sent me to review for her.
In this review, I will be focusing on the lotion first. But, I am also going to include a review of her cuticle oil and her acetone additive in her newest scent of Laffy Taffy!
On to the review!
Pictured above is Misty’s lotion. She has 14 scents available to choose from, including unscented. Misty makes each batch by hand using organic ingredients so that they are gentle enough for those with sensitive skin. Here is the ingredient list, if you’d like to look up any of them—
So, to put this lotion to the test, I used it for a week replacing my regular lotion and my hand cream. Upon first use, I noticed that the consistency was a bit thinner than I was used to. But then I rubbed it in, and let me tell you, a little of this goes a LONG way. It absorbed very quickly into my skin and didn’t leave me feeling greasy at all! And the “film” wasn’t there. You know…the film you can just feel on top of your skin during the warmer days when you sweat. This sunk into my skin, moisturizing it, not just laying on top it. It worked exceptionally well when I needed hydration in a pinch at work. I wash my hands constantly throughout the day, which dries them out horribly. I found that even when I didn’t have time tome to apply cuticle oil and the lotion, that the lotion left my fingers feeling just as supple as if I had applied oil. I highly recommend this lotion, and for $4.50 a bottle, you can’t beat the price!
Lets talk about the scent, because it deserves its own paragraph. Misty makes her products with the most amazing, yet not overpowering, scents. As I said with the lotion, there are 14 scents available, including unscented. But for all her other other products she has several more. I received my bottle of lotion in the scent ‘Butt Naked’. This is one of her most popular scents and one of my personal favorites! It smells like sunshine and summer with a cocktail in hand. You know the feeling you get when you hear that Jimmy Buffet song, “Margaritaville”? Well, this scent is that song embodied. It has hints of pineapple and coconut mixed in with vanilla and other fruity scents. Kind of like ambrosia salad. YUM
I hope you guys are getting the idea of how delicious this smells. So, anyway, I love every scent I have tried so far. So I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. There’s a scent for everyone!
Now on to the cuticle oil and the acetone additive!
Like I said earlier, I’m adding these to the review because she just released her new scent, Laffy Taffy! The two products were purchased by me and I chose to review them for you all.
If you’re a fruity candy lover like me, then Laffy Taffy scent is definitely for you!
Sweet and Tart all at once! It made me want to eat my fingers! The scent was a bit strong at first, but as it sank in, it definitely mellowed a bit.
Lets start with the cuticle oil!
I have been using Misty’s cuticle oil since April of this year, and I can honestly say that I will never use any other oil. It absorbs so well and doesn’t leave me with greasy fingers. My cuticle heath has improved since using her oils. I have tried other more popular oil brands, but none of them have done what Misty’s oil has done for my overall nail and cuticle health. She has several scents available, including unscented. This product is available in 3 sizes–A 5ML bottle with a rollerball applicator for $5.00, a 10ML bottle with a rollerball applicator (Pictured above) for $8.00, and a 15ML refill bottle for $10.00.
And finally, the acetone additive!
I don’t know how I ever used 100% Pure acetone before this product. It is available in a 30ML bottle with a dropper tip for $6.00! Such an awesome price!
There are two ways to use it. You can add drops of it to a small amount of acetone, as pictured below-
…or you can add the entire bottle to a 16oz bottle of Pure Acetone and just pour into your dappen dish and you’re ready to go!
If the concentration of the additive is too much, you can always add more acetone . Always remember to give your acetone bottle a shake or mix well in your dappen dish with a clean up brush, toothpick or any other acetone-resistant mixing implement.
This additive will keep your cuticles moisturized and healthy whether you’re doing minor clean up around your cuticles, or if you’re having to soak off polish. I never do a mani or take off a mani without it.
The first time I used it, I was blown away! I could not believe my eyes. I first dunked my fingers in pure acetone. The result was as expected; Dry as a desert. Then I dunked my finger in a bowl with acetone with the additive and NO DRYNESS. None whatsoever. So I thought to myself, “Well, if it moisturizes right off the bat, can it moisturize after having used plain ol’ acetone?” And whatdya know? IT DID! The dryness from the acetone was completely gone and totally moisturized! I was beyond impressed with my first time using it and still am to this day. If you want to see the video that i did, along with my initial review, you can find it here.
So that is my review of Lilly Anne’s Lotion, cuticle oil, and acetone additive. Hope you enjoyed reading it and hope that you will give her products a try!
